In talking with Linda Garay, the Branch Manager for Midwest Veterinary, Supply, Inc. of Dallas Texas she said, “People sometimes do not understand, veterinary medicines are not unlike human medicines, they must be stored at certain temperatures to maintain product integrity. One of our goals was to find a product to heat and cool our warehouse while maintaining a constant temperature plus or minus a few degrees across the entire warehouse. We won’t own the Dallas warehouse so keeping the units off the roof eliminates the cost of curbing now and leaving the units on the roof if we move. Our warehouse is roughly 21,000 sq. ft., with a ceiling height of 24 ft. A portion of that footprint is occupied by office with an existing A/C. Our total conditioned warehouse space is about 440,000 cu. ft. We have 2 dock doors that will be used daily, one being open 3 or so times a day for 5 to 10 minutes each time. Our products require temperatures under 80°F. Danny Swaim with Texas Air Systems, the local Applied Air Representative, recommended the Applied Air model IFA-250/100/50 Air Turnover Unit. 625MBH input / 500 MBH output with 28,000 SCFM, complete with a DX “A” coil with high velocity discharge. Freer Mechanical of Fort Worth Texas and Angiel Electrical Construction Corporation of Dallas Texas did the installation. The Air Turnover unit efficiently heats and cools the space from top to bottom at less than a 2-degree differential anywhere in the warehouse. The unit was installed inside the warehouse at floor level in the spring of 2011 for immediate occupation
